Ryuichiy Sakamoto short film competition
I was born in Italy, in Parma. Here I grew up, absorbing the old farmers and countrymen's traditions. Here also I had my artistic inspirations. My father was a photographer. When I was a child he used to carry me on during his photographic tour. He was driving through the countryside looking for the right photo. He was looking for some little lonely abandoned house, and I was happy to follow him in his silent research. My land is culturally a double face place. Today I work as a graphic designer for some company. Here in Emilia Romagna, big motor and mechanic brand have based their facilities. Big industry has changed the rural shape of the land. Some big photographer as Luigi Ghirri had described the lonely spaces of this places. Some other as Antonioni had talked about the dimension of time in this flat land. Tonino Guerra lived here. Others as Bertolucci have talked about the psychological feelings and social/political class fight. In 1976 Bernardo Bertolucci filmed 900 here. In this location (Corte le Piacentine) the troupe was living for 15 months. Here I wanted to film some sequence of my "Async video", to pay homage to all this great men.
